Currently, managers are attending a mandatory
corporate briefing on “employment at will.” What this means to an
employee is that the corporation is free to terminate the employment
of an employee-at-will regardless of the corporate motive and with
or without good cause. The only limitations are violations of law,
such as terminations based on age, race, national origin, gender,
or religion. Basically, corporate management is reminding managers
that half of the Aerospace employees are not subject to a covenant
of good faith and fair dealing.

Proposed Delay In Merit Raises

Company pays $1636 less for medical insurance benefits than in 1990Bulletin 39, August 13, 2001APSA is currently negotiating with the corporation over improvements to employee benefits. One of APSA's proposals is to improve the Aerospace Savings Account Plan (ASAP) by incorporating a "look-back" feature in determining whether newly hired employees receive credit toward retirement in their first year of employment.
